How to Create a Casting Call with Influencity?

Learn how to launch smarter influencer campaigns faster, with less hassle and better results.

Tired of sifting through spreadsheets and chasing down creators one by one? With our Casting Call feature, you can streamline your influencer recruitment process from start to finish.

Are you managing large teams or running multi-brand campaigns? This tool helps you publish targeted briefs, collect qualified applications, and build your dream creator lineup, all from a single dashboard.

Here’s how to create and launch your first Casting Call.

1. Start a New Campaign

Go to Campaigns > Casting Call

Once you're in the dashboard, you'll find an overview of all your casting calls—whether they're in draft, active, or closed status. To launch a new one, just head to the upper-right corner and click the “Create Casting Call” button. That’s your starting point for building a new campaign from scratch.

2. Fill Out the Key Details

The first step is giving your casting call a name. You can also add an optional description to keep things organized. From there, you’ll move on to building the campaign brief.

This step includes filling in key details like campaign’s start and end dates, application deadlines (which can be earlier than the campaign’s end), and customizing the brand identity with logos, colors, and names, etc.

3. Build Your Brief

The next step in setting up your Casting Call is to build your brief, the heart of your campaign. This is where you define your campaign objectives, outline what deliverables you're expecting from creators, and choose your compensation type (whether it's product, payment, or a mix of both).

You can also upload up to three product images to bring the offer to life, and specify which social networks applicants must be active on to qualify.

Note: For a detailed walkthrough on how to create your brief, check out the article "How to create your brief".

4. Inviting Influencers vs. Open Applications

There are two paths for influencers to apply to a Casting Call: as a Guest or an Applicant

  • Guests are creators you invite directly from your IRM, saved lists, campaigns or proposals. They receive a unique, private email invitation with a personalized link to the campaign.

  • Applicants, on the other hand, are any creators who access the public campaign URL you’ve shared.

However, only those who meet your predefined criteria (like minimum followers or engagement rate) will be visible to you in the dashboard.

Note: Regardless of the path, all influencers must complete the application form to be considered.

Campaign Lifecycle

When setting up a Casting Call campaign, it moves through three distinct stages, each designed to give you control over timing and visibility as you manage applications.

  • Draft: This is your editing phase. You can build your campaign step-by-step, save your progress, and return to it anytime. Just remember: until you’ve filled in all the required fields, you won’t be able to publish it.
  • Active: Once published, your Casting Call goes live and begins accepting applications. Influencers can view the brief and submit their information.
  • Closed: The campaign stops accepting applications either automatically on the set end date, or manually if you choose to close it earlier.

Note: Once activated, core details like dates, requirements, or deliverables cannot be changed.

Reviewing Candidates

Once influencers begin interacting with your Casting Call, they’ll move through different candidate statuses based on their level of engagement and your selections.

Invited is an influencer you’ve invited directly—either from your IRM, a saved list, or a proposal—but who hasn’t yet completed the application form. Once a creator (invited or not) submits the form and meets your predefined criteria, they become a New Candidate. From there, you can choose to accept or discard them.

If you accept the candidate, their status changes to In Campaign—meaning they’ve been approved and are now part of your IRM. If you decide they’re not the right fit, you can discard them, and they won’t be added to your IRM or contacted further.

Note: To streamline this process, you can use bulk actions within the dashboard to accept or discard multiple candidates at once, helping you move through large pools of applicants efficiently.

Preview & Launch

Once you've completed all the required fields in your Casting Call setup, it's time to move to the final step: Preview & Launch.

This is where you double-check your brief, ensure all details are accurate, and confirm that everything looks the way you want applicants to see it.

When you're ready, simply click Save and Run Casting Call to publish your campaign. Once activated, you'll receive a public URL that you can share anywhere on social media, in newsletters, or directly with partners to start receiving applications.

Note: You’ll also have the option to share it directly to the social networks you have associated with your brand.
